Steps for scanning from an HP Printer in Windows with HP Scan:
Lift the scanner lid.
Place the document or photo you want to scan print side down on the scanner glass and close the scanner lid.
On your computer, click the Windows button, and then type the model of your HP printer.
Select your printer from the results.
Click the tab for Print & Scan or Print, Scan & Fax, depending on your printer.
Click Scan and then click Scan a Document or Photo.
Select the Scan Shortcut for the task you are performing.
Click the checkbox next to Show Scan Preview or Show Viewer After Scan.
Click Scan.
A preview of the scan opens.
Click Save.
If desired, select the folder where you want to save the scan and then change the file name.
Click Save to save the scanned image.
